Works Perfectly, No Problems July 19, 2010 D. R. Crawford (Charlevoix, MI) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I looked at printers for a long time before I chose this one. I have another Canon printer that I just love, because it never clogs, always works no matter how much time there is between prints. This new printer is every bit as good, and even better. It has almost perfect registration; that is, the paper aligns precisely as it should, with no annoying offset to one side or the other.
When doing borderless printing, there is also near-perfect registration of the printed image, so that you don't have to set it for a big enlargement to ensure that the entire area of the paper is covered. I am real happy about this as I hate to waste ink. I don't yet know how frugal this printer is with its ink; other reviewers have spoken about that. It DOES make quite a racket when it first grabs the paper, but that's no big deal to me. I have put three different sizes of photo paper (4x6, 8.5x11, 13x19) and two different sizes of plain paper (8.5x11, 11x17) through it and it handles them all without the slightest problem.
Be aware that this printer uses dye-based inks and therefore the printed surface isn't as durable as pigment-based inks. On the other hand, the inks are cheaper and provide more vivid colors. I'm using this printer to create 13" x 19" art prints that I'm matting and hanging on my walls, and the inks aren't much of an issue for me. I'm really happy with my purchase.
insatiable appetite for photo magenta July 18, 2010 kclud39 (seaford, va) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
love this printer. it's a work horse...and with the right paper, prints beautifully. but i find, no matter what jobs i'm printing, that i use about 8 photo magenta ink cartridges to every 1 of most of the other colors. yellow comes a close second. i have never changed the red or green in the year i have had this printer...
3 photo magenta cartridges were gone thru to print 44-13 x 19 average color coverage pages today.
Pro9000 July 15, 2010 D. Willemin This printer is wonderful. Canon never disappoints. I bought it so I could get prints larger than 8.5 X 11 and have done some that are 13 X 19. The vibrant colors and clarity are amazing. Ink consumption so far has been surprisingly low and I'm glad to see that.
If you're looking for an excellent printer that will give you superb results, you should definitely consider the Pro9000 Mark 2.
Great Printer July 12, 2010 dodie7ski 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have many Canon products and have been satisfied with all. I had a small problem with the 9900, which was the predecessor to this Pro 9000 Mark II. I used it for several years before it started leaving streaks of ink on the back of my pictures. Canon rep advised me of the problem, and a temporary solution, so I used it for another year before replacing it. I hated to give it up because it printed the best pictures of any printer that I have owned, and I've had a few. This one prints with just as much clarity and true color as my previous one, and is not suppose to develop the same problem. By the way, I gave my old printer to my daughter, along with instructions on how to do a temp. fix, and she is now enjoying it as much as I did previously!
Great Printer! July 5, 2010 Bruce Ikenberry I did a lot of research for an inkjet printer. When I finally found one that had a 4 1/2 star rating, it caught my attention. I read all the reviews and thought, I'm going to get this printer. It was easy to set up and the one-click printing was amazing. The color was great right from the start. I'm very impressed and happy I purchased it.
