Nice Job Canon July 23, 2010 InTheOffice My old Canon Pixma MP830 began to act up & streak after about 4 years of use; it's not cost efficient to think about getting one repaired so I started looking around at replacement machines. The MP830 had been a great machine but used 5 ink cartridges that cost about $70.00. I utilize all aspects so I needed another printer/ scanner / copier / fax. I found the MX330, read reviews and purchased it for less than the cost of 5 ink cartridges. It is easy to use, pretty fast and only uses 2 ink cartridges that will cost substantially less than I'm used to. Print speed is not quite as fast as my old, more expensive MP830 but it has some upgraded featues due to improvements in technology that my old one didn't. I can attach a scanned file to an email without saving it first, that's huge for me.
I'm partial to Canon printers but this one is tough to beat; every component works well. Print quality is good, PDF's from the scanner are crisp and clear, the copier is quick and also clear and the fax works well. Overall, this was a very good purchase for me.
Great printer for the price. June 20, 2010 D. Stewartgriesser 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a good printer, especially because it is not too expensive. It's pretty big & bulky, and not real quick printing, but that is my only "complaint." It's print quality is amazing, and it has tons of features that I will actually use! It is great for the average home who does not do a ton of print/copy jobs. I haven't tried the photo printing yet, but if the print/copy quality is any indication, I have no doubt it will be the same quality.
Costly to use June 18, 2010 Tom Frasier (Goode, VA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am pretty happy with the produict except one BIG gripe.
I've had my MX 330 for about 4 months. My original ink cartridges ran out of ink fairly quick. I bought 2 Canon ink cartridges that are marked XL, meaning more ink for extended life. The cost was within a few dollars of the original cost of the printer. 48 pages later one of the ink colors was empty. It still had plenty of the other 2 colors. Giving Canon the benefit of the doubt I bought another 3 color cartridge. About 50 pages later the same thing happened. I didn't have to do any nozzle cleaning or anything else other then normal printing. It's a rip off to have to buy a 3 color cartridge just because 1 color is empty. I've learned my lesson and will NEVER buy another printer that doesn't have at least one cartridge for every color.
What a horror June 16, 2010 mskrisclark (home) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I had no intention & was NOT in my plans I had to buy a scanner today. My old one just broke & could NOT fix it.
I was not looking for anything fancy.
So far the only thing I can say positive about this is it was easy to install through the CD Rom. The Getting Started book is not that good.
As for getting it to work & options. It is a horror.
My word. NO instruction book, just use the Basic Guide on your desk top.
This Basic Guide does NOT explain everything & answer all questions. Easy questions or instructions are NOT there. Settings you see once & then they disappear.
DOES NOT come with a USB cable that you need. A Huge minus.
Electrical plug/cord you have to attach & are loose once you do. Not safe.
Options & features are NOT explained in the Basic Guide. It has an option to attach a scan to an email. Scans, BUT JUST SITS THERE.
You have to play with things to get them to work.
Pain in the neck to save documents.
When you register it with Canon you are of course asked for the serial number. Ha ha. It is NOT on the box, nope. Nothing simple. It is next to where the ink cartridges go. And, oh my word. This is not simple to even input the cartridges into the machine. Pain in the neck, too hard to get to.
Nothing is simple or easy.
Very disappointed with this machine. Need an instruction book & booklet to show how things work.
Good Printer June 8, 2010 AK (WV) Good printer for the $ and does everything I need it to do. Ink is a bit pricey but isn't it always.
